Are joint injections right for me?

Dr. Stanley lets you know if you’re a candidate for joint injections at Cascade Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center, P.C., after discussing your symptoms and medical history with you. He examines painful joints and may order blood tests, X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, or other imaging procedures.

You might be a candidate for injections because of an injury, age-related joint wear and tear, arthritis, or other pain-producing chronic diseases.

What are the different types of joint injections?

Dr. Stanley offers ultrasound-guided injections using high-frequency sound waves to ensure optimal precision and accuracy during needle placement. Some of the many joint injections available at Cascade Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center, P.C. include:

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections

PRP uses platelets from your own blood to stimulate cell regeneration and speed up the healing of damaged joints. Dr. Stanley takes a sample of blood from a vein in your arm, spins it in a centrifuge to extract PRP from your whole blood, and injects it into painful or injured joints.
